One of the charms of travel is being able to expose ourselves to
new culture and way of life through the things and fresh
experiences. People typically react to the novel in different ways.
One instinctive reaction is to reject the unfamiliar and use home
base as a reference point to make judgements and opinions. As a
matter of fact, the history of the world and many countries goes
back much longer than 1819 when Sir Stamford Raffles lay the
foundation for modern Singapore.
Another possible response is to embrace the unknown, and we
can gain much when we decide to wander away from the confines of the
familiar to embrace new opportunities, see new horizons, climb
new mountains, feel the sensation of adventure , and pushing the
limits of what we believe is possible.
For most of us, this wandering is typically limited to modest
endeavors, like exposing ourselves to new places, foods, and
cultures. And that’s one reason, I think, why so many love to
travel—it is a relatively safe way to take some risk in life.
